Goater has played just 18 games for the Kangaroos, primarily due to injury setbacks across the 2024 and 2025 seasons but he has passed a medical according to Morris. He was taken with pick 22 in the 2021 Draft.
Fremantle wingman Nathan O’Driscoll will explore his options this trade period as he seeks a home away from the 2026 runners-up. The Dockers offered the 24-year-old a three-year contact but having had some interest from the Western Bulldogs, he will now consider other clubs as well. O’Driscoll played 17 games this season including the qualifying final loss to Hawthorn, taking his career tally to 55.
“The only one that we’re really working through is Nathan O’Driscoll. Our discussion with Nathan and his management at the moment is that he’ll look to explore his options through the trade period, and then we’ll work through what that looks like,” Fremantle executive general manager of football Joe Brierty said on Thursday.
“We’ve had discussions across the entire year with Nathan and his management…we put some things on the table to Nathan and what they look like. As we got to the back end of the year, we made a decision with him and his management that we would hold off any further conversations until the season concluded, and then we revisited that this week and agreed with both parties that he would entertain and explore .
“We’re comfortable with him exploring those options…and depending whether something comes to fruition or not - if it doesn’t - then we’ll have those discussions post the trade period. ”West Coast has interest in Geelong small forward Gryan Miers. AFL Media reports the premiership winner, who played through an ACL injury this season, is keen to stay but the Eagles “have a level of interest and have asked the question”.
“I’ve heard some speculation on him ... clubs over the last couple of years have raised his amongst other names,” Geelong footy boss Andrew Mackie said on Trade Radio. “But no ... other players have been raised this year. I think it’s clear the Saints were asking about Lawson Humphries. But no, no, from our end, it’s been pretty quiet from that point of view.
” The Cats are meanwhile willing to trade Jack Bowes with interest from both Essendon and North Melbourne.
“Jack Bowes is exploring what his future looks like. But, you know, we’ve been in regular contact with Jack. And, you know, once again, he’s a great guy and we’ve got to look at what’s the best thing for him and the footy club,” Mackie said.
“We’ve had pretty open dialogue with him. He’s a great guy. When guys are out of the team, we feel that we do need to have a conversation with them if they can better their career, then that’s something we’d always like to do as a footy club.
“Now the next bit is can you always follow through on it? Maybe not, but you know, if it is right for Jack and us then we’d be okay with it. ”
