Long-awaited corruption report into Gladys Berejiklian to be released next week

An ICAC report into its investigation into former NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian will be released on June 29.

“The NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption will furnish its Operation Keppel investigation report, concerning the then member of Parliament for Wagga Wagga, the then premier, and others, to the Presiding Officers at the NSW Parliament on Thursday, 29 June 2023 at 9am,” the commission said in a statement on Wednesday.

Despite promising $140 million to Wagga Wagga during the byelection campaign for a range of projects, the Liberals lost the seat to independent Joe McGirr.During the ICAC hearing, tapped phone calls revealed Maguire gave Berejiklian advice on which projects she should fund to shore up Wagga Wagga for the Liberals.“Just throw money at Wagga,” Maguire said in the call on July 30, 2018. “I’ll throw money at Wagga, lots of it, don’t you worry about that,” Berejiklian replied.
