What do an acclaimed country trio and a university in St. George have in common? A recent name change, to remove the problematic word “Dixie.
” The country group, now known simply as, is touring in support of its 2020 album “Gaslighter” — but will likely perform such earlier hits as “Goodbye Earl,” “Not Ready to Make Nice” and the Fleetwood Mac cover “Landslide.” The Chicks will perform Friday, August 5, at Usana Amphitheatre, 5150 Upper Ridge Road, West Valley City. The show starts at 7:30, with folk singer Patty Griffin as the opening act.
