Australia captain Meg Lanning is hopeful star all-rounder Ellyse Perry does not suffer another World Cup heartbreak as she battles back spasms ahead of Sunday’s final against titleholders England in Christchurch.
“As much as you’d love to have some sentiment there and make sure that the greats of the game get rewarded, that really hasn’t played a part in the decision. “Six [bowlers] is certainly enough; seven is a bit of a luxury, just in case you need to go to different options,” Lanning said. “But I think we’ve shown over a long period of time now that six bowlers is a good amount.”
