Heading the office will be former U.S. Attorney Eileen Decker.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna announced on Wednesday, Feb. 15, that his department will create what he hopes will be a solution to decades of gangs and violent policing in the department: the Office of Constitutional Policing.
Director Eileen Decker, who was appointed by Luna to head the new department, also co-chaired Luna’s transition team after his election in November. A previous U.S. attorney for the Central District of California, covering Los Angeles and six other counties, she also sat on the Los Angeles Police Commission and was a lecturer at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
