Deloitte Access Economics’ Chris Richardson says there was “lots of good news” on the economy in the government’s mid-year budget update.

It comes after Treasurer Josh Frydenberg praised a number of the figures which were revealed in the update which was delivered on Thursday.

“Lots of good news on the economy flowing all through today’s document, ending up in the strength of the economy itself, ending up in wages, ending up in jobs, but not ending up in the budget,” Mr Richardson told Sky News Australia.
