An Italian couple spent 19 years trying to silence their neighbours’ toilet habits

A couple in a flat complained that they couldn’t get a good night’s sleep after their neighbours – four brothers – installed a new bathroom.No. Anyway, after a local judge dismissed their complaints the couple took the case to the court of appeal inThat the new bathroom was directly adjacent and that the water closet was actually built into the party wall.

That it amounted to a violation of the couple’s rights, protected not just by the Italian constitution but also by the European convention on . The judge ordered the brothers to move the water tank and to pay the couple €500 a year from when it was installed in 2003.That’s not really the point, though, is it?
