Former Love Island star Samira Mighty has revealed her plans to take the music industry by storm – one upbeat banger at a time 🎧🎤
: ‘I think it’s always difficult being on reality TV and then coming out and doing something that’s maybe not so in the lane of what Love Islanders should do.
‘That taboo should be dropped because a lot of islanders are very talented. I was in the West End just before I went into the villa, so it was absolutely gruelling audition processes.Samira continued explaining: ‘So I kind of always knew when I came out that I wanted to keep going with that kind of creative aspect.
‘But it’s kind of difficult for people to take you seriously because they think maybe you are like a joke or you’re trying to do like a one hit wonder.Amid rumours of a Love Island season featuring the series’ All Stars, Samira acknowledged it could be another opportunity for a fun adventure but confirmed she was sticking to her musical guns and would pass should producers come knocking.
‘I think it’d be weird… The idea of something like that obviously is incredible because I think it’d be amazing tv, but I want to be taken really seriously – like a proper, proper artist and you don’t really see Justin Bieber going on Ex on the Beach. ‘I’m not sure it’d be right if that makes sense. Unless they bring me on as a singer like when Becky Hill comes on or something like that.’Looking to the future, the rising star excitedly shared her live performance goals and wishes for collaboration projects with other artists.‘Of course, I would love to do some features and get on more tracks with other people and a few more gigs and stuff I think, just to kind of really showcase who I am and so that people can really actually believe in it.
