Gordon Stirling has been described as 'an absolute legend and true best friend'.
The tragic bus driver who died following a smash on the A77 has been named by a devastated Stagecoach boss.
The 23-year-old former St Joseph's Academy student was seriously injured following the collision on Monday evening while the 42-year-old van driver, who was in a serious but stable condition, is now stable. Fiona Doherty, managing director of Stagecoach West Scotland said: “It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of our colleague Gordon Stirling. Gordon was the driver of the service 4 bus which was involved in a road traffic incident with another vehicle on Monday, August 14 on the A77.
One person said on Facebook: "I may drive lorries, Gordon drove buses but absolutely nobody should go to their work and not return home in any circumstances, not least in the most horrifying way Gordon suffered on Monday night.
