The Brighton-based band has taken on the world, and they aren't done yet

It has been a hectic year for Lovejoy, a hectic 18 months in fact, that has seen UK tour after UK tour peppered with US dates, European dates and festival appearances - as well as releasing a new EP. Now the band, who really can't be called newcomers any more, are rounding off the year with a string of US dates, and a homecoming gig in Brighton - as well as releasing a new track.

Normal People Things is out on October 6, and you can pre-save or pre-add to unlock a surprise extra here. I was lucky enough to catch the band at a gig in Bristol a few days ago - and it is clear their progression has been rapid over the last 18 months. They are tighter, more confident and clearly more experienced but better than that the band has picked up some new influences from the acts they have been touring with and playing alongside at festivals which included everything from Reading and Leeds to Glastonbury, TRNSMT to the Isle of Wight.
