Luis Roberts celebrated Leeds’ sensational win at Leigh - by walking home and having a brew! But don’t fear. He didn’t undertake the 50 mile trek back to Headingley on foot; the Rhinos winger actually lives around the corner from Leigh Sports Village.
“I had my air pods in so I couldn’t really hear . But you can see from their facial expressions what they’re thinking! It’s all fun and games. Roberts was born and raised in Leigh and moved from there to Rhinos ahead of last season. So he had more reason than most to toast the epic win. Rohan Smith’s side looked dead and buried when trailing 16-0 early in the second half but hit back with a stunning turnaround to continue their promising season start.
Four unanswered tries in just 20 minutes completely turned the game on its head. Wales international Roberts, who played six games for Leigh in 2022, is making the most of his chance. After a bit-part first season at Headingley, making 10 appearances, he’s started all four games so far having converted from centre to wing.
