Nathan Lyon has revealed what was said between Australia and England in the Lord's lunchroom after the Jonny Bairstow stumping and has also given his thoughts on the teams not sharing a customary post-Ashes drink.
The injured spinner was not on the field at the time but soon after found himself situated between the two teams as they sat down for lunch.
Bairstow’s stumping sent the Lord’s crowd into raptures, with members of the prestigious Marylebone Cricket Club hissing and yelling “cheat” as the Australians walked through the pavilion to their changeroom. “It was surprising. You don’t expect it at Lord’s but you can just see the emotion, the importance and just purely the theatre around Ashes Test cricket.”Another contentious moment from the Ashes was the revelation that theAustralia and England traditionally go into each other’s changerooms to share a beer over the memories made throughout the five-match contest but that did not eventuate in London.
“So I dare say they had a lot of family around there and a lot of presentations to hand over so I’m going to give England the benefit of the doubt here.
