There are planned routes changes and closures around Lancashire for the week beginning June 26 listed by National Highways
If you are looking to travel on roads and motorways in and around Lanschire this week should take note of routes changes and closures. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, with parts of the M6, M55 and M61 affected by roadworks.
Work installing gantries as part of the motorway upgrade between junctions 21a to 26 of the M6 is continuing this week. The project will see 65 will be put in place throughout the 10-mile stretch of the M6 between Warrington and Wigan. Workers will also be replacing safety barriers and road signs, meaning drivers will be able to get from A to B as safely as possible. As work is still progressing, the A56 and M66 will see overnight closures, specifically between the A56/A680/B6527 junction and M66 junction 1 near Summerseat.Diversion routes are in place on the B6527 Market Street / Blackburn Road / Manchester Road and the A56 Manchester Road.
