BREAKING Traffic building on the m6 and m55

Traffic is building on the M6 after emergency repairs were needed to what is being described as an 'infrastructure defect'.

Although full details of the issue have not been revealed, the northbound carriageway has been closed completely. The incident is affecting the motorway within junction 32 for the M55 link road. Traffic cameras show congestion building around Broughton Interchange, Preston. According to National Highways, specialist are en route to assess the damage.A spokesperson said: "The M6 is closed northbound within J32 for the M55 link road near #Preston due to an infrastructure defect.
