There’s movement at the top of Australia’s biggest investment banking team.
Macquarie Capital co-head for Australia and New Zealand, John Pickhaver, is understood to be headed to New York to oversee the bank’s big infrastructure and energy unit for the Americas.
Tim Joyce, his co-head for Macquarie Capital Australia, will be sole head of MacCap for the Asia Pacific region., when Robin Bishop left investment banking and headed into private equity.Sources said MacCap’s leadership shuffle was announced internally on Wednesday morning, along with a handful of other updates.
Melbourne-based David Porter was named as co-head of infrastructure in Australia, alongside Butcher, while staff were told Ivan Varughese would continue to be heavily involved in its Australian deals.
