NSW coach Michael Maguire and Blues hopeful Latrell Mitchell will come face-to-face just 24 hours before the former names his side for their must-win Origin II in Melbourne .
The Blues will name their squad on Sunday and the reason behind Mitchell’s omission in the series opener has been a point of conjecture.Veteran rugby league journalist Phil Rothfield reported on Sky Sports Radio last week that Maguire was left unimpressed with Mitchell following a meeting before Game I.
The pair will now get the chance to clear the air on Saturday and Mitchell’s Rabbitohs teammates Tom Burgess and Peter Mamouzelos believe it’s a no-brainer for Maguire for Origin II in Melbourne on June 26.“I’d have him in there if I was the coach. I think he’s dangerous. If you’re a Queenslander, you’d rather him out of the side than in the side,” Burgess said.
