With its feel-good Spanglish lyrics and chill reggae melodies, Maffio’s new song is in honor of his late sister Katherine Alexandra Mendoza. “Dry your eyes for me, no tears for me just smiling. Celebrate my life. It’s gonna be alright,” goes the encouraging chorus.
“I [understand] that the people who leave us continue with us, which is why have to let them go live their eternal life in peace and that the best way to honor them is to celebrate and live our own lives intensely,” Maffio says in an official statement. The heartfelt music video features all four artists singing and enjoying the track while Maffio’s daughter, Marley, goes around spreading joy with a red carnation . TV personality Jorge Bernal, Venezuelan comedian Marko, and actress Gabriela Vergara also make appearances in the clip. The ending of the video shows photos of Maffio’s late sister and an emotional video of him and his mother crying.
