Australians in the Northern Territory shared their experiences on social media after experiencing the huge tremor.
Some reported their whole houses were shaking, while others say they struggled to get back to sleep after the “scary” ordeal. “That Earthquake was scary as! The entire house just shook like crazy and pictures fell off the walls!” one woman posted to Twitter.Meanwhile, Darwin resident Annabel Bowles told Sunrise at first they believed it was a cyclone.“But there were covers rattling, glass in the cupboards shaking, people’s pools water splashing out.The Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre said there was no tsunami threat to the Australian mainland, islands or territories.
