Man Utd signed Sergio Reguilon on loan from Tottenham on transfer deadline day.
Harry Maguire has had a previous run-in with new Manchester United signing Sergio Reguilon, which may have led to an awkward reunion this week.
Jonny Evans was already with the squad after signing a short-term deal to be involved in pre-season but the centre-back has now signed on for the year. Sofyan Amrabat was the big signing of the day as he moved to Old Trafford on an initial loan for £10m, with United having the option to buy him for a further £20m next summer.
After changing their mind on Marc Cucurella after a poor display against Wimbledon for Chelsea, United instead moved for Reguilon. The Spaniard is out of favour at Spurs but United have admired him for some time and considered a move in 2021 before opting for Alex Telles instead. The game was only 10 minutes old when Reguilon won a free-kick for his side after being dragged by former United midfielder Paul Pogba. Yet, Maguire did not believe it was a foul and was furious with it being given. With no fans in the stadium at the height of the pandemic, Maguire's response could be heard loud and clear: "Hey Sergio, f*** off".
