Fantastic!
Crowds gathered on the platforms at Carnforth and Ribblehead station to catch a glimpse of the magnificent Scots Guardsman 46115. The vintage locomotive passed through North Lancashire on its way to Carlisle.
Watch Matilda's video above to see the preserved British steam locomotive make its way through Carnforth and North Yorkshire, including over the striking Batty Moss Viaduct in Ingleton, before stopping at Ribbleton. Despite the overcast conditions, the footage clearly shows the engine in full flow, pulling several red carriages even honking its horn as it comes into the station.
The Scots Guardsman, which is aptly named after the Scots Guards, mainly runs on the Settle and Carlisle Line and in peak season takes part in regular mainline steam tours. Carnforth is an iconic train station, famed for its starring role as a key location for Hollywood romantic classic film, Brief Encounter.
