The most significant easing of coronavirus restrictions so far in South Australia is now in effect, with restaurants, pubs, salons, gyms and galleries allowed boosted capacity provided they follow the rules.
He said about 10 per cent of Australian hospitality businesses have permanently closed because of coronavirus, but many in SA were able to continue trading through the crisis at reduced capacity.
"People will find it a little bit different — there'll be social distancing, there'll be markers on the floor … there'll be no smorgasbords or buffets or salad bars," he said."We're a long way back from any sort of long-term viability but it's a start."Royal Park nail salon owner and operator Danielle also opened her doors early this morning, following ten weeks of no trade.Beauty treatments are allowed in South Australia from Monday.
"I have my little sanitation station, I've got a perspex screen up between me and my clients, I've got ducted ventilation in my table, so everything's nice and clean," she said. "The only other significant issue is that gym classes have been limited to 10 people, which has caused some issues in the sector."
