Major scandal envelops Nine involving one of its top executives accused of inappropriate behaviour towards women
His drunken behaviour raised so much concern at one Nine function that an employee is said to have called police when they witnessed Wick getting in his car to drive. Nine has been accused of covering-up allegations its former director of news and current affairs, Darren Wick, behaved inappropriately towards women. Picture: NineBut The Australian confirmed today that his departure followed allegations of inappropriate behaviour toward a female staff member. It is understood while the complaint was new, it related to an incident that occurred some years ago, considered historical.
In a separate incident, it became well-known at Nine that there had been an alleged incident of inappropriate behaviour by Wick towards a Channel Nine star at the Logies after-party on the Gold Coast in 2019. However, one transgression was thrust in the public domain when Wick plead guilty to high-range drink driving in January 2021.
