Police have provided an update on the eight-year-old boy who vanished near a popular beach on the Gold Coast.
Queensland Police Service confirmed the boy had been located"safe and well in the Main Beach area" following a frantic one-hour search to find the missing eight-year-old.

He was described as Caucasian with light brown hair cut in a mullet, slim build and about 130cm tall. A image of the boy captured on CCTV footage showed he was last seen wearing a navy blue t-shirt, black shorts and blue Asics runners. The boy was riding on a scooter ahead of his parents at Burleigh Heads before he vanished in a matter of seconds, the Gold Coast Bulletin reported.The public appeal was shared more than 3,000 times on social media, with thousands of comments hoping for the boy's"safe return".
