Sky News host Alan Jones says former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull “thought he was such a gift” to the Liberal Party, but in reality had “no policy instincts at all”.

Mr Jones said since Minister of Home Affairs Peter Dutton “made the first strike” against Mr Turnbull – for which “the party is grateful” – Turnbull has done “nothing but snipe from the sidelines”.

“He was in Canberra yesterday, having another shot at the Morrison Government over coal fired power,” he said. “As with most things Turnbull these days, his observations dripped with hypocrisy”. Image: Getty
