Officers responded to a report of a man waving a gun and shot the suspect who police say fired at them. Authorities later identified the man as a 27-year-old from Allentown.
Officers provided medical care and medics transported the suspect to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, officials say.
The Lehigh County Coroner's Office later identified the victim as 27-year-old Dominick Hogans of Allentown. People who claimed to know Hogans told FOX 29's Jennifer Lee that he was homeless and not known as someone who caused trouble. "He's pretty much a daily person that walks by and panhandles sometimes, but I've never had any problems with him," Jeffery Kleckner, a community advocate said. The Allentown Police Department, Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, and the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office are involved in the investigation. Latest News
