The spear fisherman who died free diving at North Bondi has been identified 29-year-old Louis Touma, as tributes flow for the “absolute gentleman” who has been described by friends as “as humble as they come.”

He was rushed to shore on board a jet ski before being transported to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition by paramedics, where he later died.NSW Ambulance Inspector Giles Buchanan said was it was a traumatic experience for the group. “NSW Ambulance paramedics were called in to treat a man who’d been spear fishing with friends,” he told 2GB Radio.

“This was a very traumatic experience for this man’s friends, and we commend their quick response in trying to assist their friend.”
