Man charged with murders of mum and daughters after flat fire
Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene around four miles south of Nottingham city centre at 3.17am on Sunday, November 20.Fatoumatta was placed on a life support machine but passed away on Tuesday morning.Detective Chief Inspector Mark Sinski said on Tuesday: "We are dealing with one of the most horrendous crimes - the death of two young children and their mother.
"This has been an extremely traumatic event for them, and I’d like to reassure them we’re doing everything we possibly can to bring them the justice they deserve.Assistant Chief Constable Rob Griffin"The local community has been shocked and deeply saddened by the events of the past two days and I want to thank those living in the area for their patience and understanding while we gather evidence at the scene.
"We would specifically like to speak to anyone who was in or around Fairisle Close between 12am and 4.30am on Sunday morning." One told The Sun: "The whole flat was engulfed in fire and thick black smoke and many of the neighbours had to be evacuated and are still not allowed back home."
