Police are appealing for witnesses
A motorcyclist has died in a collision with a van on the M62 motorway, police have confirmed. The man was 36 and was riding a black Royal Enfield Himalayan motorbike at the time of the crash, just after 7.30am on Saturday morning.
In a statement, the force said: "Emergency services attended and found the motorcyclist, a 36-year-old man, had suffered serious injuries. He sadly passed away at the scene. "The Major Collision Enquiry Team is investigating the collision and is appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw what happened immediately prior to it, to contact them on 101, or by using the LiveChat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website.
