Her 47-year-old husband was arrested without incident at the property. He was taken to a local police station and charged with murder, Benson told reporters on Saturday. He said the couple resided at the property and were married, but that police were “still establishing” the nature of their relationship.
He said a family member on the property had called the police, who arrived at the scene a short time later. Benson described the scene officers found as “confronting” and said the victim’s family and attending emergency services and police officers were receiving support.The crime scene was still active and an investigating strikeforce had been set up, led by Hunter Valley detectives, he said.
