In an affidavit of probable cause, Harrisburg police said three Molotov cocktails were found near the bar. Maksymiv displayed one while making threats that night. The man sat and started a tab, sometimes winking at and blowing kisses at Karagiannis’ son. He drank beer, ordered some wings, then went to an area toward the back to talk to other customers, Karagiannis said, adding that customers got offended and told his son that Maksymiv smelled like gasoline.
Once authorities got involved, it was easy to track Maksymiv down because he had left his credit card at the bar, Karagiannis said. While still on vacation, he said that he had a video call with an ATF agent to help provide the security footage from the incident. But, Karagiannia was clear: He doesn’t think this was some kind of misunderstanding about them being Russian or a political statement.
