Two train lines were shut down for two days owing to the damage caused by the heavy machinery in the rail corridor.

The man accused of using a stolen front-end loader to smash into a motorbike shop, scoop up some bikes and then crashing through fences and leaving the machinery on train tracks will be freed on bail.

Police were called just before 4am on October 15, 2021, by a person who witnessed a robbery at a motorbike shop on Brisbane Street in West Ipswich. It is alleged a front-end loader was used to ram the shop and then used to scoop up two motorbikes in the front bucket. The front-end loader, which police allege was stolen hours earlier in Geebung, left the tracks at Dinmore and was allegedly driven through streets, bushland and backyards.

The driver was accused of fleeing on foot until he was tracked by police dogs and found hiding in long grass in a creek before 5am.
