Emergency services descended on Dalrymple Street in Girvan after receiving reports of a fire in a residential property at around 12.40am on Sunday.
A man and a woman have been evacuated from their upstairs flat in a South Ayrshire town after a fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The road was still closed as of 10.30am, according to trunk road monitoring body Amey. No-one is reported to have been injured in the fire after the two occupants of the flat, a man and a woman, were safely removed from the building. A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We received a call to attend a building fire at a residential premises on Dalrymple Street, Girvan at around 12.40am on Sunday September 18 2022. Four appliances are still in attendance at this time."
