A man has been arrested after firefighters battled a ferocious blaze in a derelict building in Sydney’s west. More than 50 firefighters battled the fire at a building at Granville in the early hours of Tuesday.
West Sydney warehouse blaze. The blaze broke out in the two-level building on Good St, and flames quickly grew as high as 10m. At least 23 pieces of firefighting equipment, including aerial platforms and rescue units, were used to prevent the flames from spreading to vacant shops next door. Firefighters were unable to enter the premises due to signs of potential building collapse. They used aerial platforms to reach the roof and extinguish the blaze that took an hour to bring under control.
