A man 'in his 20s' has been arrested after a Jet2 flight from Glasgow Airport was forced to be diverted.

It is alleged that the passenger became aggressive towards members of the cabin crew and other travellers. It is also alleged that several people had to restrain him so that the plane could safely land at Shannon Airport in Ireland, where police rushed onboard to detain the man.
"Gardaí met the aircraft and arrested the man under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997. He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in County Clare."A Jet2 spokesperson said: "We can confirm that flight LS155 from Glasgow to Tenerife diverted to Shannon Airport on Wednesday afternoon so police could offload a disruptive passenger.
