A man has handed himself into police after a woman was found dead in the bathroom of an apartment in Sydney's west.
Officers were called to the unit on Pennant Hills Road in North Parramatta about 4.30pm yesterday after reports of an alleged domestic violence-related incident. This morning NSW Police appealed for a 20-year-old man, who they wanted to speak to about the woman's death, to come forward.He attended Bankstown Police Station this afternoon where he was arrested.Earlier, police confirmed "chemicals" were found in a bathroom where the woman's body was discovered yesterday.
Superintendent Julie Boon said police had been called by a family member concerned for the resident woman's welfare.Superintendent Boon said "chemicals" were found in the bathroom, prompting the arrival of HAZMAT officers.Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the woman's death are continuing under Strike Force Jenola.
