A man arrested on suspicion of murder after the discovery of human remains in Salford has been released on bail. A 20-year-old was held on Saturday evening following the grim find on Thursday.

It is understood that there was no clothing on the body parts which could have assisted police with identifying the victim. At this stage police have no indication as to whether the victim is local or has been killed elsewhere and their remains left in Salford.
In a statement on Tuesday GMP said: "Major Incident Team detectives, specialist units and local neighbourhood teams continue their searches in the area, working hard to determine the identity of human remains found in Kersal Wetlands on Thursday 4 April. Over the weekend, officers arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of murder, he has been released on bail pending further enquiries."
