An Adelaide man is charged with riding a stolen scissor lift down a popular Adelaide party strip.

An Adelaide man has been charged after being caught riding a stolen scissor lift down a popular Adelaide party strip this morning.

At about 4am, police security officers who were monitoring the CBD's CCTV saw the 26-year-old driving the scissor lift down Hindley Street, according to police. Police said the vehicle was stolen from a construction site before it was driven along King William Street, Currie Street and Leigh Street.He was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle, drink driving and driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.He was bailed to appear in Adelaide's Magistrates Court in November.
