A man has been charged with negligent driving and multiple other offences following a single-vehicle crash in NSW 's central west that resulted in a woman's death on the weekend. Emergency services responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on Lake Canobolas Rd in Nashdale, west of Orange, just before 6pm on Sunday. Upon arrival, police discovered a car that had veered off the road, down an embankment, and collided with a tree.

The 30-year-old male driver was trapped within the vehicle and required extrication by emergency personnel. NSW Ambulance paramedics attended to the man at the scene before he was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical but stable condition. Police established a crime scene and commenced investigations into the incident, with support from the Crash Investigation Unit. The driver was charged on Thursday with five offences, including contravening a prohibition/restriction in an AVO (Domestic), negligent driving occasioning death, driving while disqualified, driving while unregistered, and driving with a minor defect.
