A 58-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car that allegedly crashed through fencing on a median strip in Adelaide.
Police charged a 44-year-old man over a crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist. A 58-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his bike was hit by a car on South Road at Hindmarsh in Adelaide's inner north-west. The driver crashed through a fence on a median strip, police said, and was later charged with causing death by dangerous driving. Emergency services were called to the scene near the entrance to the North-South Motorway about 3:50pm on Tuesday.
Major Crash officers arrested the alleged driver, a 44-year-old from Park Holme, and charged him with causing death by dangerous driving. He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on March 19 and police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to contact Crime Stoppers. The man's death was the second on SA's roads in 2025, after a 49-year-old from Mannum died in a single-car crash at Caurnamont in the Murray Mallee on Monday. Late last year, three motorcyclists were killed within days of one another as SA Police pleaded with drivers to take care. 'The trauma on our roads this festive period has been truly heartbreaking,' Superintendent Shane Johnson said in the lead-up to New Year's Eve.
