A man behind the wheel of a Renault SUV, which allegedly ran a red light causing a horror crash, has been charged.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested by NSW Police a day after he's alleged to have cause a horror multi-vehicle smash in Sydney's south-west.

A 39-year-old mother was allegedly dragged from the blue coupe and pushed onto the road at Thomas Hassall Anglican College. She was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The Mercedes was found abandoned in Campbelltown just over an hour later and was later seized for forensic examination. A critical incident investigation has been launched.
