Police say a 66-year-old woman became seriously ill after drinking tea prepared by somebody she knew.
Businessman and educator Stephan Wagner, 61, faced Campbelltown court today after being charged over the attempted murder of his wife Glenda Wagner, 66.

She was hospitalised for a number of weeks following the alleged poisoning.
Investigators attended their family home on Lanark Place, St Andrews, at about 11.25 am yesterday, where they arrested Stephan. Stephan is known as a respected businessman and educator, who was worked for a number of government departments, including the CSIRO. A man has been charged after allegedly poisoning a woman's tea in Sydney's south-west. He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with multiple poisoning offences, including intention to murder.
He made no application for bail and will be remanded in custody until his next appearance in December.
