Police have charged a man currently held in custody in relation to the alleged murder of a notorious underworld crime figure who was shot down in a 'meticulous assassination' earlier this year.
Ahmad, 39, reportedly had a $1 million bounty placed on his head by an underworld rival and had been warned by police his life was in danger before he was shot dead in Greenacre, Sydney’s south-west in late April.Mahmoud"Brownie" Ahmad was shot dead in southwest Sydney earlier this year. The man remains in custody and will appear at Fairfield Local Court on July 6 with investigations continuing.
Ahmad was shot with a number of bullets as he left from a meeting with an associate, police said. Picture: 7 News Homicide Squad Commander Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty said Ahmad was hit with a"large number of bullets".
