A man allegedly attempted to kidnap two young teenagers and a woman in separate incidents in the Whittlesea area of Melbourne on Friday. Police said the man allegedly approached a 27-year-old woman walking along Forest St before attempting to drag her into his grey Mitsubishi Tritan ute about 6.20pm. The Moonee Ponds resident managed to escape and the man drove away towards Church St. She was not injured in the incident.
It’s believed the same man had also approached two teenage girls much earlier that same day. The girls, aged 13 and 14, were riding scooters when the man allegedly got out of his car and spoke to them on Oak Bank Blvd just after 6am. The girls ran away and did not sustain any injuries in the incident, which was captured on CCTV. On Saturday morning police intercepted a man driving a ute on the Midland Hwy in Shepparton.
