A 46-year-old man has been charged over the alleged stabbing of a woman at her Dover Heights home. 9News
at her Dover Heights doorstep yesterday afternoon after opening the front door to a man believed to be known to her.
Police allege the 46-year-old man, believed to be a friend of the woman's husband, stabbed her about 3pm, leaving her with a severe chest wound.Three builders working nearby heard the woman's screams and rushed to the scene, disarming the alleged attacker.The man was arrested about 12.30pm on Campbell Parade, Bondi, and police charged him with causing wounding or grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.
"This was a very traumatic scene to arrive at with a significant, life-threatening stab wound," NSW Ambulance Inspector Giles Buchanan said. "Paramedics administered IV fluids, stemmed the bleeding and provided pain relief to stabilise the patient. "Stabbing wounds are generally confronting incidents and this patient has suffered a very serious injury."
