A man in California is charged in a gruesome case with murdering his own mother.
Stanislaus County sheriff's deputies were called to a home in Modesto for a domestic disturbance on Sept. 30.
They found the victim “with unspecified life-threatening injuries.” She was taken to a hospital but could not be saved. Investigators with the Major Crimes Unit found the victim’s son “near the immediate crime scene” and arrested him — 38-year-old Zachary Morris — for homicide. According to the district attorney’s office, he stabbed his mother, Dana Morris, with a screwdriver multiple times. She was a double-leg amputee.
On Oct. 3, Zachary Morris was charged with murder while inflicting torture and abuse of a dependent adult causing death.
