has accused Premier League chief executive Richard Masters of a lack of transparency over Man City and their 115 outstanding financial charges., the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted it is “one rule for the big boys and another rule for those below them”.
Man City were hit with 115 charges by the Premier League in February 2023 for allegedly breaching financial rules over nine years. However, the case is yet to be heard despite expedited hearings for Everton and Nottingham Forest since the bombshell charges dropped. Masters spoke out last week at the European Leagues General Assembly to claim “a date has been set and the case will resolve itself at some point in the near future”.
