Manchester United are hoping to knock City off their perch
Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has warned Sir Jim Ratcliffe that the poaching of Omar Berrada won't affect his club as they continue to go from 'strength to strength'.
“We have a lot to learn from our noisy neighbour and the other neighbour ,” Ratcliffe said after his arrival at United was announced. “They are the enemy at the end of the day. There is nothing I would like better than to knock both of them off their perch. It is part of a wider trend of City seeing employees, including the likes of coaches Enzo Maresca and Rodolfo Borrell, both of whom are now managers, move on to rival clubs.
“Every aspect of the business of football, from coaching to playing to managing. When you look at people that get an offer for a great job at another club, of course you understand. It’s natural people will take other challenges. And Khaldoon has warned City's rivals, including United, that the exits won't weaken them. He is pleased with the way the club’s overarching ownership group has grown to become a strong force in the world game.
