A 31-year-old man led police on a high-speed pursuit through Perth's northern suburbs before fleeing on foot and being found on the roof of a home. He was eventually coaxed down and arrested on Boxing Day, facing charges including aggravated burglary, possession of stolen property, and driving recklessly to escape police.
A man accused of leading police on a dangerous, high-speed pursuit through Perth ’s northern suburbs has been coaxed off a home roof and into the custody of waiting officers. With no where to go, the 31-year-old man was talked down from the property in Lockridge and charged with more than a dozen offences in what was a dramatic Boxing Day arrest caught on an officer’s body-cam.
Man coaxed off Lockridge roof after alleged Christmas pursuit. Police allege the man had broken into a Subiaco unit about 7am on December 23 before stealing a green Toyota LandCruiser. Police spotted the four-wheel-drive in Karrinyup on the afternoon of Christmas Day and tried to pull it over. The driver allegedly refused, with officers pursuing the car through Karrinyup, Doubleview, Osborne Park, Mount Hawthorn and Glendalough “as the accused travelled recklessly and at speed”.
