A Melbourne man has contacted police and been interviewed by investigators in relation to an alleged hit-and-run collision that left a cyclist with serious injuries.

Police allege a 30-year-old cyclist was riding along Brunswick Street in Fitzroy North, in Melbourne's inner north, when he was struck by a car in the early hours of Monday, April 3.They allege the driver of the car then left the scene.A Coburg man, 30, contacted police on Saturday afternoon after the public appeal for information.

"The driver has been interviewed in relation to the alleged hit-run collision and is expected to be charged on summons," a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
