A 21-year-old man died at the hospital after he was found with a gunshot wound in the East Akron neighborhood.

AKRON, Ohio — A 21-year-old man has died after he was found Wednesday morning with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle in the East Akron neighborhood, police say. Officers were called to the 800 block of McKinley Avenue, just east of Inman Street, at about 10:15 a.m., according to police. The victim was taken to Summa Health Akron City Hospital but he died of his wound.
The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family members. Police say they’re working to determine a possible motive for the shooting and to identify suspects.Anyone with information can call detectives at 330-375-2490 or Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-COPS.
